Remember to organize as you go.

I’m not going to get very extensive this week folks, but the above site links to edugator. This also happens to be an aggregator. Notice how there’s a tag cloud. But that’s not important, I want to talk about organizing your PLE as you go. You see, this article may not seem like much right now, but if you’ve been linking to sites left and right, or you’ve just been building your PLE forever, it may seem like a godsend. Take an extra 30 seconds out of your web time and try creating a few folders, categories, tabs, or whatever organizational tools that are available to you in yor PLE. Otherwise you might have to take an hour out of your day later on just so you can know what you’re looking at.  A folder and description will go a long way. So remember, whether you’re learning formally or going it solo, organization is a huge leap forward in your learning experience. Don’t end up paying $1,000 to go to a business success seminar just to hear basic strategies to do what your teachers have been telling you for years. A couple clicks on a mouse or a couple shortcut keys could save you hours down the road. Get organized and stay that way, and your PLE will be much easier to handle and much more useful. That’s what this one guy happens to think.

  1. Hey i like what you said about organization. I also think there is a whole lot more to a PLE of course, but you made a strong point about being sure to realize how important a little organizatioin is. Your PLE can be a huge combination of programs and utilities, so you have to keep yourself organized otherwise youll be wondering what happened to that certain peice of software “on down the road”. I myself am very organized, and although sometimes it’s a pain in the ass because i have to everything right, I will say that for school and working on my PLE, its a golden ticket. So get in the habit of being organized definately, it will help you later on.

  2. Those were some sage words. I, like you, feel that some of those seminars are reiterating things that were already presented to you at some point earlier. So simply having the foresight to mindful of organizing our PLEs goes a long way. Taking the time to plan now makes it easier for later.
